Real life has a way of happening, and there are always participants who, for one reason or another, can't finish their assignment. That's when we need pinch-hitters to step in for them, so everyone will receive their gift in December.
If you might be able to help out, please read the following!
All you need is an AO3 account. (You can request one
here if you don't have one.)
Pinch-hits will be posted directly on this community. (You can
friend it to see entries on your friends list, or
track it to be notified by email when a new post is made.)
Once a pinch-hit is posted, if you'd like to take it please
comment on the post with your AO3 name and email address (comments will be screened). If the pinch-hit hasn't already been taken by someone else, we'll email you to tell you it's yours, and will assign it to your AO3 account.
If you know you want to help out or are impatiently waiting for pinch-hits to go out, you can also
leave us your details in this post and we'll contact you directly in case of a participant dropping out of the exchange. In this case please comment below with the following information:
(You can find a list of all the relationships tags that people requested this round
here.)
If your details match with the request we will contact you before the pinch-hit is sent out via the mailing list or announced on the community and ask if you're willing to take it.
Comments on this post are screened, though we will unscreen questions to answer them.
Except for last-minute pinch-hits, the deadline for all pinch-hits is the same as for regular assignments: 23rd November.
Many thanks to anyone who can help out to make the exchange run smoothly!
Also keep in mind that even if you haven't signed up for the exchange you can write and post treats (additional stories) for the participants. Everyone's requests will be visible on AO3 after the deadline passed. So even if you don't get a pinch-hit, you can still participate. (Treats will be revealed at the very end of the fest, so you can keep writing and posting them during December.)
